Clint Barkdoll, Esquire
Clint Barkdoll is a partner with Kulla, Barkdoll & Stewart, P.C., with offices in Waynesboro and Chambersburg. His practice includes criminal defense, divorce, child custody, domestic relations support matters, corporations, wills and estates, real estate, and a variety of other civil areas. Mr. Barkdoll is a past president of the Franklin County Bar Association and has served on the boards of many charitable organizations throughout the community.
He is a graduate of High Point University and the Dickinson School of Law – Penn State University. He values the role Franklin County Legal Services (FCLS) plays in providing critical services and access to the courts for underserved populations.
Andrew J. Benchoff, Esquire
Andrew J. (“A.J.”) Benchoff is an attorney who practices law with the firm of Kornfield and Benchoff, LLP. A.J. focuses his legal practice on real estate and business transactional matters, land use and development matters, estate administration and simple estate planning matters, civil litigation, Orphans’ Court litigation, and he serves as the solicitor for various municipal bodies throughout Franklin County.
Mr. Benchoff believes that there is a substantial need in the local community for critical legal services among those who are at a financial disadvantage, for whatever reason, and it is his honor to serve on the FCLS Board of Directors.
Philip Cosentino, Esquire
Ellen J.W. Gigliotti
Ellen J.W. Gigliotti is a licensed marriage & family therapist at Sanctuary Christian Counseling. Mrs. Gigliotti earned her masters in Marriage and Family Therapy from Evangelical Theological Seminary and has done postgraduate work in Gottman Method Couples Therapy (completed Gottman 1, 2, and 3), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), sex therapy, sexual addictions therapy, and supervision.
She has been awarded her BC-TMH (Board Certified in Telemental Health). She is a member and clinical supervisor for the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy, and supervising younger therapists is one of the joys of her career. Mrs. Gigliotti also volunteers with Friends of Legal Services and has done so for many years.
Amy Herrold is the Vice President, Controller for F&M Trust Company. She received her Bachelors of Arts in Sociology with an English minor from Shippensburg University and a Bachelors of Arts in Accounting from Wilson College. She has also been a volunteer with Friends of Legal Services (FLS) since 2000 and serves as the treasurer for FLS and the FCLS board. Working with FCLS and FLS marries her love of books with her passion for helping those in need.
Mahesh Rao, Esquire
After his admission to the Pennsylvania Bar in 1989, Mahesh Rao worked as a staff attorney with Legal Services, Inc. and Mid Penn Legal Services. He served as the first director of FCLS from 2002 to 2014. Mr. Rao is now a Hearing Officer with the Franklin County Court. He has an enduring commitment to ensuring equal access to justice and serves on the Board of Franklin County Legal Services in furtherance of that commitment.
J. McDowell Sharpe, Esquire
J. McDowell Sharpe is a fifth-generation lawyer and partner at Sharpe & Sharpe, LLP. He concentrates his practice in business, corporate, real estate, and estate law, as well as litigation relating to those practice areas. Mr. Sharpe received his Bachelor of Arts at Colby College and his Juris Doctor at the Marshall-Wythe School Law of the College of William & Mary.
He has served as Past President and Treasurer of Franklin County Bar Association and continues to serve on the Law Library Board. Mr. Sharpe is solicitor for Franklin County Area Development Corporation and Chambersburg Area Development Corporation.
Edward Steckel, Esquire
Thomas B. Steiger, Jr., Esquire
Thomas B. Steiger, Jr. is a partner at Steiger & Steiger Attorneys at Law, a firm started by his father. His areas of practice include elder law, estate planning, wills and estates, municipal law, administrative law, social security disability, and civil litigation (especially in the real estate area). Mr. Steiger is a former President of the Franklin County Bar Association, and now serves as Vice President of the Pennsylvania Bar Association Political Action Committee.
He is also solicitor for the Peters Township Supervisors, the Peters Township Municipal (sewer) Authority, and the Bear Valley Franklin County (water) Authority, as well as being local counsel for First Community Bank of Mercersburg. Mr. Steiger graduated from Mercersburg Academy in 1966; from Princeton University (Magna Cum Laude with an AB degree in history) in 1970; and from the University of Pennsylvania School of Law in 1973.
