3.  APPLY by coming to our office.  Please call first to schedule an appointment so we are sure to be available when you arrive.

What to expect when you apply:

  • Interpretation in any language is provided if needed.
  • Please have information about your income/assets available for yourself and all of your household members.
  • Please also have any paperwork regarding your legal issue available.
  • Eligibility Requirements

– To qualify, an applicant’s household income must be at or below 187.5% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines. Asset limits are also applied.  Please click here for our guidelines: English Español Kreyòl ayisyen

– We do not serve individuals living outside of Pennsylvania.

– We must screen for any conflict of interest and you may be determined to be ineligible based on a conflict of interest. If that happens, it doesn’t mean anything bad about you or about your case, it just means we are ethically unable to assist.

– For our immigration legal services, we can only serve persons living in (or who lived in prior to immigration detention), the Pennsylvania counties of Franklin, Fulton, Adams, Cumberland, Perry, Juniata, and Huntingdon.

– We must also determine the service level/delivery for your legal problem based on the limited resources available to us. That means that we may not have enough attorneys/staff to assist all in need or in the way requested by the applicant. We prioritize services to persons for whom a civil legal problem is affecting a basic human need.

– We do not handle criminal cases, cases where you would be able to hire an attorney from the funds won in the case, or cases where the law gives you the right to an attorney.
